Snow and freezing temps in Calgary
Last week we were basking in temps of +20C, but they have dropped, really dropped and we have snow.
We are apparently getting up to 20cm of snow by Saturday and it will be very cold. As I write this it is -17C outside with a windchill making it feel like -21C. In fact, the temperatures for the next two weeks are all well below zero. Tonight it will drop to -23C.
Hopefully, the snow will clear as they say it will stop this afternoon, but it's looking pretty bleak across the city at the moment.
It also seems that the roads are not salted or gritted as they are in Ontario unless that's just this particular occasion. We have seen some small plows trundling around, but nothing like the heavy machinery we used to see. Lots of accidents reported, and I'm not surprised looking at the state of the roads. Oh well, it will be what it will be!
