Virginia trip summary

Virginia trip summary

Well, we are now back from our short trip to Virginia. We had a great time and managed to see some amazing wildlife, which was our number one aim.

We are not disappointed. We managed to see 16 black bear, including 8 gorgeous cubs as well as 43 deer, 1 muskrat, 1 fox, 1 snake, 3 groundhogs and many other animals such as chipmunks, rabbits, squirrels and a weasel type creature who remains unidentified.

Birds were also in plentiful supply having sighted many such as herons, turkey vultures, bluebirds, mockingbirds, hawks, eagles and even a very close up encounter with a red tailed hawk.

All in all we had a great trip and managed to travel through one province and five US states: Ontario, New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia. In total we travelled 4,500km and paid an average of $2.45 for a gallon of gas.

The trouble is now we are back, we want to travel again, so watch this space as we plan the next trip.
